The anticipated airport is set to be part of the trifecta of international airports serving the Phuket, Phang Nga, Khao Lak and Krabi tourist zones
The new international airport in Phang Nga has been given approval to enter into another development phase according to The Thaiger.
Originally billed as a private enterprise, the Airports of Thailand (AoT) contract - the second gateway Greater Phuket airport project has been presented to the government at a cost of 75 billion baht.
If approved, land appropriation is expected to take a year and building an extra 48 months.
The airport is expected to opening in 2024/2025.
Andaman International Airport is the tentative name given to the new airport development in Northern Phuket.
