Phuket Airport has reportedly registered more than 10,000 arrivals per day during the September long weekend.
Phuket's domestic tourism stocks have received a boost, with data showing the September long weekend provided an influx of visitors to the region.
Held from September 4-7, the four-day weekend acted as a substitute for the Songkran holidays, which were earlier put on hold due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
Phuket Airport General Manager Thanee Chuangchoo, told The Thaiger the number of arrivals per day surpassed the 10,000 mark during the period, representing a spike from the month of August, which had about 6,000 arrivals per day.

"The highest, 10,133, was on Sept 4, with all 85 flights fully loaded," he said
"It’s heartening to see that Thai people still want to make a tour to Phuket.”
The airport is currently served by a number of domestic carriers, including Nok Air, Thai AirAsia, Thai VietJet Air, Bangkok Airways, and Thai Smile, a subsidiary of Thai Airways.
As it stands, there is no official confirmation yet as to when the airport will welcome back foreign tourists.
