French high fashion manufacturer Hermes has set its sights on Phuket, opening a new store with the help of architecture agency RDAI.
French high fashion manufacturer Hermes has combined with architecture agency RDAI for its new Phuket location.
Situated in the Central Phuket Floresta, the recently opened store is the first of its kind outside Thailand's capital city.
The 172 square metre retail space is split into two main areas , one of which houses watches and jewellery, while the other contains the men's and women's wear sections.
A sand coloured carpet on the floor outlines the area dedicated to the shoe collections, enriched by a delicate custom-made bamboo light module as the ceiling centrepiece.
Upon entering the store, visitors are welcomed by the House’s ex-libris and signature Grecques lights, designed for Hermès in 1925.
The store is decorated with natural and local materials – bamboo floors and claustra, cognac toned Cherrywood walls, toffee coloured silk and fibre fabrics – tastefully blending various elements of Thai culture and modern architecture.
The store is one of more than 300 exclusive Hermes stores around the world, with the company coming in 32nd in the 2017 Best Global Brands list.
A brand valuation of USD 23.4 billion means it trails behind Louis Vuitton, which has a valuation of USD 28.8 billion.
